UTC History Club Learns History of MLK Boulevard

The UTC History Club learned about the history of racism in Downtown Chattanooga.

Students toured through Chattanooga starting at Martin Luther King Boulevard. The group talked about the city’s early slave market and labor force. They also covered the violent reactions to the Brown vs. Board of Education case and the fight to rename Ninth Street to MLK Boulevard.
