Don Welch Memorial Takes Place Today

Chattanooga mourns the death of a local tv personality. Don Welch died at 75 years old, ending his battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.

In the 1960’s, Welch began his broadcasting career as a newsreader and disc jockey. Many
recognize Welch from his work at News Channel 9 as the weatherman and host of “This N That”.

Welch’s radiant personality shined not only on screen, but within the community.

Welch was part of the Ronald McDonald House charity drive for the last 24 years.

In honor of his life, a public gathering will be held today from 4 P.M.-8 P.M. at Hamilton Funeral Home on Hixson Pike.
