Mocs Football Receive Second Consecutive Loss Against The Citadel

The Mocs hosted The Citadel Saturday for Military Appreciation Day looking to get their first home win of the season. Unfortunately, UTC fell short of a win. Despite a close game, it was the second straight loss to The Citadel as the offense and defense struggled throughout the day.

Darrel Bridges

The Citadel-run game opened up the passing game as Dominique Allen found Josh LeBlanc keeping Citadel in front, and stayed in that position for most of the game. Despite The Citadel dominating on offense, Darrel Bridges kept fighting, pulling off an incredible diving touchdown to tie the game and give the Mocs life at the half.

The momentum did not last all game, however. Jacob Godek kept The Citadel in the lead late with two second half field goals, setting up a 20-14 lead, giving the Mocs a final chance. Throughout the final drive, Cole Copeland was able to find his wide receivers and the offensive line was creating gaps for bridges, but it would all come down to a fourth and goal play where Copeland would throw an interception, giving The Citadel the victory and keeping the Mocs without a win.
