The Lady Mocs women’s basketball team ended the season on a high note that fans and players will remember for a while.
The women’s team ended the season on a five-game win streak to tie for first place in the Socon. The Lady Mocs finished (10-4) in the Socon and tied with the UNCG Spartans and the Samford Bulldogs. Even though the women’s team didn’t have the hottest start to the season, they got hot when it mattered the most.
The game last Saturday was senior night and was set to honor them, and their last game in the roundhouse did not disappoint. The Mocs just had to beat rival ETSU to secure the title and a top spot in the upcoming Socon tourney. Once Chattanooga got the lead in the fourth quarter, they never looked back and senior Lakelyn Bouldin lead the charge and sealed the game against the Buccaneers.
Chattanooga had an amazing February and won seven out of their eight games. Head coach Katie Burrows emphasized how incredibly proud of this run the Mocs went on. The Mocs are appreciative and are excited they won the regular season title, but their eyes are focused on the Socon Tournament. The Mocs will be the No 2. Seed in the upcoming tournament.
They will take on No. 7 Seed Mercer in the quarterfinals on Thursday in Asheville. The game will be at 3:30 PM and can be watched on ESPN+.
