It was a rough start to the season for the Men’s Basketball team, as the Mocs struggled to complete passes and committed turnover after turnover in their exhibition game versus the Francis Marion Patriots.
Against their Div.II foe, the Mocs looked out of sorts for the entire game, as they routinely botched easy passes and bricked open shots. Despite dominating the boards against their opponent, Francis Marion was able to stay in the game because of the Mocs’ litany of turnovers. In the end, Francis Marion was able to take and keep the lead against the Mocs.
Makinde London led the Mocs with 17 points and was second on the team with 8 rebounds. Rodney Chatman chipped in with 14 points and 13 rebounds. On the other side, Detrek Browning paced Francis Marion with 17 points and 4 assists. As a team, UTC had 22 turnovers and only 5 assists.
