Chatta-do-ga – Week of November 17, 2017

This weekend promises for holiday fun and cheer!

Christmas lights are going up and that means that Rock City’s Enchanted Garden of Lights opens this weekend! Doors open at 6 P.M., so gather up some friends and head to the top of Lookout Mountain for a night of light extravaganza!

If light gazing isn’t your style, then head down to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo for Ice on the Landing. Ice on the Landing returns this year from Chattanooga Presents and is partnering with Volkswagen of Chattanooga.

The ice skating ring opens Friday at 2 P.M. and will have all sorts of hours and dates due to the holidays so make sure to check out their website.

On Saturday, wake up and head back to the Choo-Choo for the first ever Chattanooga Hip-Hop Festival, which will take place at the Choo-Choo and The Revelry Room.

The Hip-Hop Festival will showcase local talent and promises that there is something for everyone! There are classes on how to learn to be a DJ, hip-hop dance moves, and more.

The event is open to the public and will feature two areas; one for families, located outside the Choo-Choo; and the other inside The Revelry Room. Ticket prices are $20.

The Chattanooga Market comes to a close at the First Tennessee Pavilion for the year. This weekend’s theme is Thanksgiving and Christmas, so stop by and get some early shopping done. Shop local this year for your Christmas gifts.

Alton Brown brings his Eat Your Science tour to the Tivoli Theater on Sunday, November 19th. Brown is best known for appearances on the Food Network, his cooking, and for writing several books.

We will have some Facebook live updates for you next week with some tips for shopping and things to do over the holiday break, so have a good Thanksgiving and a safe Black Friday!
