The military of Zimbabwe took control of the government removing President Robert Mugabe, who is 93 and has been leading Zimbabwe for 37 years.
The military is not calling it a coup but rather a transition of government.
A few weeks ago, Mugabe fired his vice-president and named his wife to take his place.
The fear is that the president of Zimbabwe started to lose his power and was trying to create a dynasty.
The now-former president and his wife are safe but remain confined to their home, but will speak for the first time today since his confinement at a college graduation.
