Lookouts Begin 2018 Season With Defeat, 5-4

Spring is here, and so are The Lookouts.

A combination of early-season optimism, fireworks, and cheap drinks brought out the fans in droves as the lookouts hoped to start their season off on the right foot. AT&T Stadium was packed as over six-thousand spectators witnessed a thrilling opening day game against the Birmingham Barons.

Scoring happened consistently, as neither team had a barrage of runs in any one inning. One of the highlights of the game was Ryan Walker’s two-run blast that put the lookouts up 4-3. The Lookouts relief pitching left much to be desired though, since Chattanooga gave up that slim lead in the 7th and 8th innings. A potential game-changing double or triple was stabbed out of the air by Birmingham’s left fielder Jameson Fisher, in what was the play of the game. The Lookouts could not muster a comeback, and Chattanooga left the field in defeat, with a score of 5-4.
