Provost Search Will Restart in the Fall

UTC Chancellor Steven Angle announced the current search has ended. Details are in an email letter sent to the UTC campus.

I am writing to provide an update on the provost search.  We had a strong pool of candidates which speaks highly for all of the good things going on at UTC.  Our search committee did an excellent job in identifying four strong finalists to visit campus.  Following the campus visits, the search committee identified two candidates they felt were best qualified to serve as UTC’s next provost.  After review of the candidates’ materials, campus feedback, open forum presentations, and checking references, I have decided the best option is to close out the current search without making an offer.

Please join me in thanking the members of the Provost Search Committee for their hard work.  I also want to express my gratitude to Dr. Joanne Romagni for chairing the committee.  We were fortunate to have strong participation from the campus during the interviews for the finalists.  The feedback from our university community was invaluable.

We will restart the Provost search this fall with a new search firm.  In the interest of fairness to those who spent so much time on this search, a new search committee will be appointed.  We will be in touch with a proposed time line and additional information as soon as the decisions can be made.

Steve Angle

Chancellor
