CHATTANOOGA, TENN (mocsnews.com) — The beautiful game of soccer has brought history to the Wales national team on sending them to the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The Wales men’s national team defeated Ukraine’s national team by scoring one goal to lift them into the World Cup.
This one goal came from Garath Bales free kick to hit it off a Ukraine defender to score an own goal for Wales to go on to win the match 1-0. With this victory brought history to Wales in a 64-year drought in making the World Cup. Garath Bale says, “It means everything, what dreams are made of, we’ve been working towards it since I first came in here.”
This brought Wales fans excitement to see their national team to make it to the World Cup for the whole world to see in November of 2022. This win put them with the Group B stage with other national teams like the United States, England, and Iran for the World Cup. They will have a tough challenge in facing these teams in the World Cup to get to the finals to show that they are the best.
The Ukraine national team put up a good fight against Wales in this match with all that is going on in their country with Russia. They gave 100 tickets to all the Ukrainians that were there as refugees to watch their country play to get into the World Cup. Oleksandr Zinchenko said, “We need to show the people that everyone needs to live in peace, and we need to stop the war altogether because you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow.”
This soccer match was the greatest that we have seen in watching Wales go on to the World Cup when it’s been 64-years since they have been to the World Cup. Plus, with Ukraine putting up a fight even though with the things that are happening back home with their country. Wales will play USA in their first match in November for everyone to see what they can do in the World Cup.
